Galvanization

Galvanization is the use for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes of a constant electric current of low voltage and low strength. The current is supplied to the patient through plate electrodes and gaskets. The patient feels a slight tingling sensation. The duration of the procedure is 10-40 minutes. With general galvanization, the number of white blood cells in the blood increases, and metabolism improves. Low current helps to accelerate blood circulation.

Indications for use

The procedure is effective in treating the consequences of traumatic lesions of the brain and spinal cord, diseases of the central (with vegetative disorders inclusive) and peripheral nervous system; digestive organs; hyper- and hypotonic disease, coronary heart disease, atherosclerosis in the initial stages; chronic inflammatory processes; skin diseases; eyes; musculoskeletal system, bone fractures, chronic osteomyelitis, scleroderma; diseases of the female genital organs; some dental diseases.

Contraindications

Therapy is contraindicated in acute inflammatory and purulent processes; circulatory insufficiency; hypertension stage 3; systemic blood diseases; atherosclerosis; tendency to bleeding; feverish condition; eczema; dermatitis; violation of the integrity of the skin at the places of application of electrodes; individual intolerance to current; malignant neoplasms; disorders of skin sensitivity; fever; pregnancy; cachexia.
