Steam Carbon Dioxide Baths

Dry carbon dioxide baths provide a dosed intake of carbon dioxide into the body and at the same time give a number of physiological effects.

Baths activate the function of the respiratory center, enhancing alveolar ventilation and improving bronchial patency. The oxygen transport function of blood improves, the dissociation of oxyhemoglobin in tissues accelerates, blood pressure decreases and the total peripheral vascular resistance decreases, which leads to a decrease in the load on the cardiovascular system.

The carbon dioxide content ranges from 20 to 60 volume percent, the temperature of the vapor-air mixture is usually 36-38 C. The duration of the procedure is 15-20 minutes.
